HOPE! We Are On Time - A Six-Part Docuseries

"Hope! We Are On Time" is an innovative six-part documentary series that takes viewers on a journey across 17 countries, highlighting the other side of the climate emergency: the side of the innovative solutions that are already in action. The series brings together inspiring and committed voices representing different facets of the fight against climate change. 

On one hand, it features engaging stories of individuals and communities that reveal how collective action is restoring our planet, reducing our emissions, and improving the quality of life in their respective localities: from the Philippines to the Ecuadorian Amazon, passing through Kenya, Europe, Mexico and USA. 

Some of these voices that guide us are Jane Goodall, Johan Röckstrom, Rob Hopkins, Kate Raworth, Mark J. Jacobson, Paul Hawken, Christiana Figueres, Bertrand Piccard, Norah Magero and Nemonte Nenquimo; with Javier Peña, Spanish environmental activist, as the main narrator.   

Throughout the six episodes, the viewer will witness how we get closer to the goal of limiting global temperature increase to 1.5º, with a virtual simulator that measures the real impact of these scalable solutions. Javier Peña and global environmental leaders examine proven strategies restoring ecosystems, reducing emissions, and strengthening communities in 17 countries. Together, these leading voices form a team that through diverse perspectives invites us to envision a regenerative and just future, and remind us of the urgency to act. 

DISC 1:

Episode 1: THE GREAT OPPORTUNITY (58 mins)
Behind the climate emergency lies a great opportunity to build a better world. We look at three clear example solutions that, as well as reducing emissions, improve everyone’s lives, embarking on a journey around the world to see these and other solutions in action.

Episode 2: THE POWER OF TWO WORDS (53 mins)
All change begins with two words: “What if…”. What if there were another better way to produce our food, manage water and natural resources, and reduce emissions? What if there were other ways to design our cities or to air-condition our homes?

Episode 3: METAMORPHOSIS  (56 mins)
The idea of change usually provokes rejection, but if we think about it, the best stories revolve around change. Accompanied by Kate Raworth, an economist who wanted to turn economics upside down with her “doughnut economics,” we look at stories of amazing metamorphoses: fishermen who learn to love the sea, people close to plastic who discover new ways of approaching its use, and above all, we learn that we need to change to thrive without depleting the finite resources of our planet. THE INVISIBLE There are sources of emissions that remain outside the collective imagination: methane leaks, the inefficiency of our homes…but all of these have solutions. Even complex problems like food waste or the excess of meat in our diets can become allies in the fight against the climate crisis.

Episode 4: THE GREAT SHIFT (56 mins)
Can we imagine a better future, a 100% renewable future, a future in which cities improve the quality of life of their inhabitants, in which we replace scarcity with abundance and find ways to reconcile renewable energy production and ecology?

Episode 5: THE INVISIBLE (58 mins)
There are sources of emissions that remain outside the collective imagination: methane leaks, the inefficiency of our homes…but all of these have solutions. Even complex problems like food waste or the excess of meat in our diets can become allies in the fight against the climate crisis.

Episode 6: THE SECRET INGREDIENT (58 mins)
We have addressed many sectors and solutions but there seems to be something missing to achieve a reduction in atmospheric CO2. What could it be? The answer is simple and surprising at the same time: to stop the climate crisis, we need to tackle the issues in the oceans, and eradicate inequality
