New Release - Tracking Notes: The Secret World of Mountain Lions

New Wildlife Documentry Release

Stunning! Outstanding! The variety of wildlife, first time footage of mountain lion behavior, the narratives, the incredible blended remote camera footage, the music,… so well done! This film deserves to go out into the nature/wildlife world. Everyone around us was fixated on the story for the entire 90 minutes, as were we!

-Steve Seninger

Tracking Notes was the Audience Award Winner at the International Wildlife Film Festival in 2022

Tracking Notes, a film by Colin Ruggiero is a unique, non-invasive, mountain lion study. His film uses a giant network of trail cameras scattered throughout the mountains, over a decade, coupled with interviews with MPG Ranch staff and volunteers in Montana. The filmmakers pieced together the life story of the area’s mountain lions. Genetic data gleaned from hair and other samples, in combination with the video footage, has allowed the researchers to trace the life histories of individual mountain lions and their complex interactions with one another, other wildlife, and the rest of the surrounding forest world into a story that contains never-before-captured events and behaviors at every turn.
