This April vacation, Green Planet Films was fortunate to work with the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England for the first time. We collaborated on a three-day filmmaking workshop hosted by the Westerly Library and Wilcox Park.
Amidst the emergence of springtime, the scouts came with courage and curiosity and left the workshop with a sense of accomplishment and a new short documentary produced and directed by each participant.
We learned that scouts are amazing independent documentary filmmakers! They are persistent, focused and flexible. When they hit a challenge, they adapted and found a way to move forward. I loved watching their films and learned a lot from their explorations of the Library and Park.
I especially loved their positivity and kindness. It's a quality they showed to each other and everyone they interacted with on the library and park staff. These are some very talented Scouts!
