Experience the Environment - Christopher Beaver

Christopher Beaver on location
For more than thirty years, Christopher Beaver has produced and directed films that have traditionally been called ‘environmental films’. In the belief that human beings are not separate from the environment, Christopher refers to his films as explorations of the human experience of the world around us. This concern embraces universal human rights, freedom of expression, freedom from racism and poverty, and ultimately the caretaking of our human family and our living planet.

Green Planet Films (GPF) is the Fiscal Sponsor of Christopher’s ongoing work, encapsulated in the theme of ‘Discover the Environment’. As a non-profit, on his behalf we can accept and distribute funding for his work in the form of general support for his ongoing media projects that explore the world around us.

GPF is an advocate for film projects that seek to address and educate the public in an on-going dialogue to understand and offer solutions for issues of common concern. We achieve this goal through our distribution system to schools, libraries, individuals and for broadcast over public television. Our watchword is that no matter how dark the hour, there is always a path forward towards healing and light.

The Valley and the Lake series

THE VALLEY AND THE LAKE

Foremost among Christopher’s current projects is the four-part series, The Valley and the Lake, which is comprised of newly edited and expanded one-hour films from the past twenty years of Christopher’s focus on water, along with a brand-new film delving into the water that lies beneath the surface of the earth, the groundwater from wells that offers 30% of the freshwater supplies on our planet.
