Boiling Point! The Global Climate Crisis
[416]

OWN: $20.00

Synopsis:
Ross Gelbspan is America's leading journalist on global warming and climate change. This powerful speech at the San Francisco World Affairs Council, in October of 2004, is hosted by Mark Hertsgaard, Environment Editor of The Nation. The DVD is based on his latest work, Boiling Point, but incorporates his groundbreaking work from his first book, The Heat Is On. Ross's knowledge is encyclopedic and his speaking style is lyrical. He discusses the roles of Big Oil and Coal, Politicians, Self-interested Journalists, and Misguided Activists, in fueling the climate crisis. More importantly, however, he devotes significant time to his optimistic, and increasingly realistic plan, "Rewiring The Planet." Several years ago I heard this plan described as "naive." Now it has the attention of several national governments. It's a hopeful outcome we all need to embrace.

“Climate Change is not just another issue in this complicated world of proliferating issues. It is the issue that, unchecked, will swamp all other issues.” (Ross Gelbspan—The Heat Is On).
