We promote environmental education through film. We seek to preserve and protect
our planet by collecting and distributing documentaries that can be used to
educate the public about the science, beauty, and fragility of the natural
world. Our mission is to grow our web-based DVD library, and provide a channel
that connects these films to schools, organizations, businesses, government
agencies, and individuals worldwide. |

Streaming film of the week:
Guardians of Aldabra.
Aldabra is a World Heritage Site situated in the extreme
south-west of the Seychelles archipelago. It represents one of the most pristine
environments of the entire world and is the biggest raised atoll on Earth. This
film documents the activities of the rangers and researchers involved in the
conservation efforts of Aldabra's numerous species and its environment. More info

GREEN Multi award
winning. Her name is GREEN, she is alone in a world that doesn’t belong to her.
She is a female orangutan, victim of deforestation and resource exploitation.
This film is an emotional journey with GREEN’s final days. It is a visual ride
presenting the devastating impacts of logging and land clearing for palm oil
plantations, the choking haze created by rainforest fires and the tragic end of
rainforest biodiversity. We watch the effects of consumerism and are faced with
our personal accountability in the loss of the world’s rainforest treasures.

Scraphouse: San Francisco ScrapHouse was a temporary demonstration home, built entirely
of salvaged material on Civic Center Plaza adjacent to San Francisco City Hall.
Over the course of just six weeks, a team of volunteers scoured Bay Area dumps
and scrap yards. A group of architects, landscape architects, lighting
specialists, and metal fabricators repurposed the materials, giving them new
life. ScrapHouse illustrated the possibilities—as well as the challenges—of
green building, recycling, and reuse.

Curiosity Quest Goes Green. 13
episodes Curiosity Quest is an upbeat, family, educational program that
explores what viewers are curious about. In each show, host Joel Greene,
ventures on a quest to answer viewer's letters of curiosity. Each quest takes
the audience on location for an unscripted, hands-on, educational exploration.
In addition, throughout each program, Joel will hit the streets to get real and
often comical answers to questions pertaining to each episode. Joel's
enthusiastic personality often lands him in hilarious situations in pursuit of
the answer.

Houses of Straw This film
shows the recent development of straw bale building in Germany by following
three house projects. Straw bale architect Dirk Scharmer explains his latest
straw bale construction projects in different stages of building. Interviews
with owners, builders, architects and experts cover a multitude of green
building topics.

I Love Trash In order to
examine excessive waste in American culture, David Brown and Greg Mann decided
to document an experiment in trash. They rented an unfurnished apartment, and
brought only the clothes they were wearing and a flashlight. For three months,
instead of buying they would dumpster dive everything. Furniture, clothes and
even food. Maybe dumpster diving is more common than you think.

SHARKS: Stewards of the Reef
This film examines escalating threats to shark population including habitat
destruction of reef ecosystems and over fishing that are causing Pacific reef
shark populations to plummet. It examines the most brutal assault threatening
shark abundance: that of finning sharks for shark fin soup. Compelling
interviews with leading marine biologists and conservationists reveal these
driving forces behind the drastic reduction of many shark populations.

Fighting Goliath: Texas Coal Wars Follows the story of Texans fighting a high-stakes battle for clean
air. The film introduces the unlikely partners-mayors, ranchers, CEOs, community
groups, legislators, lawyers, and citizens-that have come together to oppose the
construction of 19 conventional coal-fired power plants that were slated to be
built in Eastern and Central Texas and that were being fast-tracked by the
Governor. Narrated by Robert Redford.
